Pearla Becomes a Company: Verana IV Brings 14-Bit RAW Video to iPhone, Joined by an Everyday Camera and a Post-Production Suite That's Complete on Mac, iPad and iPhone

ZURICH – 21 July 2026 – Pearla Verana IV, the fourth major version of the professional iPhone camera app Pearla, enters beta today headlined by PearlaRAW: the first and only way to capture 14-bit RAW stills and video internally on iPhone, with no external storage required, on all supported models.

The new name marks a bigger change: after two and a half years of teaching the iPhone new tricks, the app has outgrown its studio. Pearla is now the flagship of Pearla Mostra, a new Swiss company founded by Guy Cassidy to give the Pearla brand a home of its own. Pearla was born at House of Mars, Cassidy’s app studio, which continues alongside Pearla Mostra with its other apps. Pearla Mostra launches with three apps: the professional camera Pearla Verana IV, the everyday camera Pearla Joya, and the post-production workspace Pearla Revela.

Pearla Verana IV also brings burst shooting at up to 25 frames per second in 14-bit RAW or up to 40 frames per second in 12-bit RAW with pre-capture, a combination available in no other iPhone app and few mirrorless cameras. It introduces RealHUE 2, the next generation of the engine that made Pearla the first, and still only, color-calibrated iPhone camera app, now with on-device fine-tuning; a speech-activated teleprompter; smart real-time audio mixing that makes an external microphone unnecessary in many cases; a shutter priority exposure mode; an upgraded film emulation engine with authentic grain and halation; an intervalometer that works across every capture pipeline; and remote shooting from a second iPhone or an Apple Watch, in an app redesigned from the ground up.

Pearla Revela is the first professional photo and video post-production workspace that is complete on every device it runs on: the same full application on macOS, iPadOS and iOS with cloud sync, not a desktop suite with a cut-down mobile companion, the model every established alternative follows. Photos and video live in a single catalog, and grading, compositing, film emulation and outputs travel in one node graph, so one RAW file or Log clip can hold multiple grades, composites and deliverables. AI-powered catalog search runs entirely on device.

Pearla Joya is the everyday camera: the iPhone already captures what happened; Joya captures why it mattered. It’s built for content creators who want Verana’s image and audio quality, teleprompter included, without its learning curve: as simple to use as the built-in Camera app, for shooters happy to let the camera make the technical decisions. Joya is calibrated with RealHUE 2.

Pearla is used by 140,000 photographers and filmmakers. At Eurovision 2026, the video production team shot the official behind-the-scenes footage of the acts on iPhone 17 Pro with Pearla, sharing one look across shooters and delivering straight to social media.

At the heart of all three apps is Pearla Wide Gamut (PWG), a new color space engineered around human vision. Filmmakers today cut iPhone footage alongside ARRI and Sony footage, and somewhere in every existing pipeline, color gets clipped or quietly shifted. Until now, wide color meant choosing between spaces that discard part of what cameras see and an archival standard built to store finished films rather than to make them. All three apps are built on PWG as a single shared foundation, preserving 100% of every camera’s real color from capture to grade to delivery. At full release, the existing Pearla app updates in place to Verana IV. Verana IV will cost $34.99 per year and Joya $24.99 per year; existing Pearla III subscribers keep the price they signed up for, for as long as their subscription remains active.
